Sun. 7-3-10.
My first trip to Laughton forest this year to search for adders. 10 adders were seen basking themselves in the warm sunshine, all of them males, posing splendidly for the camera. Woodlarks were singing and a woodcock was flushed from the forest floor, but the biggest surprise was a red kite soaring high in the sky north east of the forest, a very enjoyable morning. In the afternoon i visited Worlaby carrs still beautiful sunshine but cold, a short eared and barn owl were seen along with a little egret, buzzard and sparrowhawk.
